Save time by going online

We’ve made improvements to our online services to help give you more time back in your day.

Caring for someone isn’t easy. For many carers, it’s a 24-hour job without pay.

You, or someone you know, may be a carer or in need of care. Carers play a vital role in our community. So we think it’s important to provide carers with support to help make their lives easier.

We offer a range of payments and services to support carers. If you’re a carer and unable to work, you may be able to access income support payments. To find out what payments and services may be available to you, check our Payment and Service Finder.

Because we know how busy it can be to care for someone, we’ve made improvements to our online services.

You can now do the Carer Allowance Questionnaire online if you meet both of these:

  • you get Carer Allowance
  • you’re no longer living with the person you’re caring for.

You’ll get the online questionnaire when you update your address details in your online account.

If you care for your partner, they can give permission online for you to enquire on their behalf. This is instead of filling out a paper form or calling us. You can ask us about their payments and services, including where their claim’s up to.

You can do these things in your Centrelink online account through myGov or the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. This means you won’t need to take time out of your busy day to visit or call us.

If you don’t have an online account, you can still do these things in person or over the phone.
