Track your Youth Allowance or Austudy claim online

Find out how to use your Centrelink online account or electronic messaging to follow the progress of your claim.
Submit your claim
Once you’ve answered all of the claim questions and uploaded your documents, you’re ready to submit your claim.
When you submit your claim online, you’ll get a receipt. This will tell you:
- you’ve submitted your claim
- the ID number of your claim
- the date we estimate your claim will be complete.
Track your claim
You can track your claim using any of the following:
- your Centrelink online account
- the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app
- electronic messaging.
In your Centrelink online account, you can view the progress of your claim from the homepage.
In the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app, select My claims from the home screen.
You can subscribe to electronic messaging online. Once you’ve subscribed, we’ll give you updates on where your claim is up to. We’ll also let you know if you need to give us more information. We’ll send these messages by SMS or email, depending on what you told us you’d prefer.
Get the outcome of your claim
Once we’ve processed your claim, we’ll let you know if you can get a payment. You don’t need to contact us.
We’ll send you a letter. If you can get a payment, the letter will say when you’ll get it and how much you’ll get.
We’ll also send you a message if you’re subscribed to electronic messaging.
