Express Plus Lite mobile app help - Change your temporary password for Express Plus Lite

Instructions on how to change your temporary password for the Express Plus Lite mobile app.

 

Use the Express Plus Lite mobile app to report employment income in English or:

When you register for a Centrelink online account, we will give you a temporary password.

You’ll need to reset this password before you use the Express Plus Lite mobile app. You can do this through myGov.

When you change your password, you’ll also need to create 5 secret questions and answers.

To use the Express Plus Lite mobile app, you’ll need to:

  • sign in with your Customer Access Number (CAN) and password
  • accept the terms and conditions
  • answer your secret question to set up your 4 digit PIN.

The screenshots in this guide are from a computer. The screen layout will look different if you are using a mobile device.

Step 1: get started

Sign in to myGov and select Centrelink.

Select MENU from your homepage.

Select My Details, followed by Account Preferences and Change Password.

Step 2: set a new password

Enter your Customer access number (CAN), then enter the temporary 8 character password in the Current password field.

Enter your New password. Your new password is not case sensitive and:

  • must be between 6 and 8 characters long
  • must include letters and numbers
  • can contain some special characters, including: ! @ # $ % ^ & *
  • must not use obvious patterns like 12345a or 111222a
  • must not be the same as an earlier password.

Confirm your new password by entering it in the Confirm your new password field, then select Submit.

If you need help, select the question mark icon.

You’ll get a confirmation when you’ve successfully changed your password.

Select Continue to go back to your homepage.

Step 3: set secret questions and answers

Select MENU from your homepage.

Then, select My Details, then Account preferences then Manage your secret questions and answers.

Create 5 secret questions and answers, then select Continue. Only you should be able to answer the questions.

We’ll let you know you have successfully set your 5 secret questions and answers.

Select Return to menu to go back to your homepage.

Step 4: sign out

From your homepage you can complete other transactions or select the myGov icon to return to myGov.

For your privacy and security, sign out when you’ve finished using your myGov account.

Step 5: download the Express Plus Lite mobile app

You’re now ready to download the Express Plus Lite mobile app.
