Express Plus Centrelink mobile app help - Download and set up app

Instructions on how to download and set up the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app.

To download and use the app, you must be connected to the internet. Before you start, make sure you’re using wifi or you have enough data on your device.

You’ll also need a myGov account with your Centrelink online account linked to use the app. If you need a myGov account or need help linking to your Centrelink online account, read our myGov online guides.

The screenshots in this guide are from a mobile phone, but you can do the same on a tablet.

Remember to stay safe online. Before you download, check the Centrelink app is the right one. Make sure the Department of Human Services is listed as the developer.

Get the latest version of the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app now. You’ll see a new look home screen and updated features.

Apple iOS guide

Step 1: find app


Select the App Store icon on your device home screen, then select the Search icon from the bottom menu.

Type Express Plus Centrelink in the Search bar, and select Search.

To download to an iPad, change your search to iPhone only in the App Store.

Step 2: download


Select Get to download the app onto your Apple device, then select Install.

You may be asked to Sign In to iTunes Store before the download can start. If you’re asked, enter your Apple ID or password and select OK.

Step 3: open app


Once downloaded, the app will appear on your device’s home screen.

Select either Open from the App Store, or the Centrelink icon on your home screen to open the app.

Once open, select Start now.

Step 4: sign in and set up account


Read the Express Plus Terms and Conditions. If you understand and agree with the Express Plus Terms and Conditions, select I accept.

To use the app, you’ll need a myGov account with Centrelink linked.

If you don’t have a myGov account, select How to create a myGov account and link Centrelink. Follow the steps to create and link your accounts.

Once you’ve created a myGov account and linked your Centrelink online account to it, you can come back and sign in.

If your Centrelink online account is already linked to myGov, select Continue.

Select Sign in with myGov.

Enter your myGov username and password, then select Sign in.

If you’ve forgotten your myGov details, select Forgot username or Forgot password. This takes you to myGov where you can recover your username or reset your password.

Once you’ve recovered your username or reset your password you can then sign in.

Step 5: answer question or enter code and accept terms

Depending on the option you chose to secure your myGov account, we’ll ask you to answer a secret question or enter a code.

If you use myGov secret questions and answers, answer your myGov secret question, then select Next.

If you use codes, we’ll send a code to you as an SMS. Enter this code once you get it.

Or, if you use the myGov Access app, open the app and enter the code on your screen.

Read the myGov Terms of use. If you understand and agree with the myGov Terms of use, select I agree.

Step 6: create your myGov PIN

Choose 4 numbers to create your myGov PIN. Enter your myGov PIN in the boxes.

Your myGov PIN can’t use:

  • sequential numbers, for example 1234, 9876
  • repetitive numbers, for example 5555

Re-enter your myGov PIN to confirm.

We’ll tell you that your myGov PIN has been successfully created. Select Continue.

You’re now signed in to the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. Your set up is complete. You can now do your Centrelink business from the home screen of your app.

Step 7: sign out

Sign out every time you’ve finished using the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app.

To sign out, select the Settings icon, then select Sign out.

Step 1: find app

Select the Play Store icon from your device's home screen, then select the Search bar.

Type Express Plus Centrelink, then select Search.

Select Express Plus Centrelink.

Step 2: download

Select Install to download the app onto your Android device.

Read the request for permissions from your device. The app needs these to work effectively. To give permission and use the app, select Accept.

Step 3: open app

Once downloaded, the app will appear on your device home screen.

Select the Centrelink icon to open the app.

Once open, select Start now.

Step 4: sign in and set up account

Read the Express Plus Terms and Conditions. If you understand and agree with the Express Plus Terms and Conditions, select I accept.
