Express Plus Medicare mobile app help - Submit a Medicare claim

Learn how to submit a Medicare claim using the Express Plus Medicare mobile app.

 

You can submit all your claims online using your Express Plus Medicare mobile app.

If you need help, select the information icon in the app.

Step 1: get started

Select Lodge claim on your home screen.

Read about the documents you need to get started, then select Next.

Read the important notice. If you understand and accept this notice, select Accept to continue.

Step 2: select patient

If there are multiple people listed on your Medicare card, a list will appear. Select the person Who received the service.

If you’re the only person on your Medicare card your name will be selected.

Then select Next.

Step 3: enter payment details

Select either:

  • Yes if you’ve paid for the service in full
  • No if you haven’t.

Then select Next.

If you’ve paid for the service in full

If you’ve paid for the service in full, you need to confirm your Bank details.

If your bank details are correct, select Next. You can now skip to Step 4 to add a copy of your account or receipt.

If your bank details are wrong, select anywhere in the box to update them.

On the Update bank screen, enter your:

  • BSB
  • Account Number
  • Account Name.

Then select Update.

You’ll get confirmation that your bank details have been updated. Select OK to return to the Bank details screen. Then select Next to continue to Step 4 to add a copy of your account or receipt.

If you haven’t paid for the service in full

If you haven’t paid for the service in full, you need to confirm your Address details.

If the details are correct, select Next. You can now skip to Step 4 to add a copy of your account or receipt.

If your details are wrong, select the address box to update them.

Enter your correct address details. If your mailing and residential addresses are the same, select the toggle. Then select Update.

You’ll get confirmation that your mailing address has been updated. Select OK to return to the address screen. Then select Next to add a copy of your account or receipt.

Step 4: add a copy of your account or receipt

You have 3 options to add a copy of your account or receipt.

  1. Take a photo using your camera.
  2. Upload a document from a file on your device
  3. Add a photo from library.

You can add up to 10 attachments. If you have more files to upload, repeat this step until you’ve attached all your files and photos.

Once you’ve finished adding attachments of your account or receipt, select Next.

Step 5: enter provider and item details

Enter the provider number from your account or receipt, then select Next.

Then select Add item.

Enter the:

  • Item number you’re claiming
  • Date of service
  • Amount you paid.

Then select Add.

If you’re claiming more than 1 item, repeat this step until you’ve added all your attachments.

Once you’ve added all items from your account or receipt, select Next.

Tell us if any items in your claim are for hospital services.

Select Yes or No. Then select Next.

If you select No, you’ll skip to Step 6 to review and submit your claim.

If you’re claiming only 1 item, it’ll be selected for you. If you’re claiming more than 1 item, select all the hospital items. Then select Next.

Step 6: review and submit your claim

We’ll show a summary of your claim, including where we’ll pay any benefit to. Depending on your claim, you need to review:

  • patient details
  • payment details
  • your bank details
  • mailing address
  • attachments
  • the provider, including the payee provider or referring provider
  • the items.

You may need to scroll to see all the details you have to review.

If any of the details are wrong, select Edit. Refer to Steps 2-4 to enter the details again.

If all of the details are correct, select Submit claim.

Read the declaration. If you understand and accept the declaration, select Accept.

We’ll tell you if your claim has been submitted. We’ll also give you a claim ID.

Select Finish to return to your home screen.

Step 7: logout

From your home screen, you can complete other transactions.

For your privacy and security, please logout when you’ve finished. Select the Menu icon.

Then select Logout.

Select Yes to confirm you want to logout.
