Supporting documents for transition to work

When you apply for Additional Child Care Subsidy Transition to Work, you need to give us evidence.

We’ll tell you what documents we need. You’ll need to provide these within 28 days.

This may include proof of your:

  • job search activities
  • employment
  • registration in a course of education, training or other program
  • progress if you’ve been studying for more than 6 months.

Type of evidence Evidence details
Study – proof of enrolment. It must include all of the following:
  • your name
  • the name of the educational institution
  • the course name and qualification level
  • the start and end date of the course
  • whether you're full time, part time or your percentage load.
Study – proof of progression. It must be either:
  • an academic transcript of your results
  • a certificate of attainment
  • other official documentation such as a letter from the course provider.
If you provide a letter, it needs to confirm completion of the course or modules. It should also detail the course or modules that you attempted or completed.
Paid work. It must be either:
  • copies of your pay slips
  • a letter from your employer.

Your pay slips must include certain information. You can read about what has to be on your pay slip on the Fair Work Ombudsman website.

A letter from your employer must include all of the following:

  • your name and the name of your employer or the business you own
  • the name of your employer or the business you own
  • employment or business address and phone number
  • date you started work and the date you will stop work, if applicable
  • your classification level or title
  • whether you are full time, part time or casual
  • the hours you work
  • your pay rate.
Unpaid work in a family business, a work experience placement, internship or voluntary work. It must be a letter from your employer or business which includes the following:
  • your name
  • name of your employer and their ABN
  • date you started work and the date you will stop work, if applicable
  • your role
  • the hours you work.

For work experience, you must also include information that shows this work will improve your work skills or employment prospects.

Setting up a business. It must be:
  • a copy of your business registration
  • the ABN of your business
  • date you started the business.
Training. It must be a letter from your apprenticeship or traineeship company or educational institution, which includes all of the following:
  • your name
  • the name of the company or institution
  • the course name and qualification level
  • the start and end date of the course
  • whether you're full time, part time or your percentage load.
Job search. It must be either:
  • a letter from your Employment Services Provider confirming you are actively undertaking job search activities
  • a record of contact, or
  • copies of correspondence with potential employers.
It must also include a list of jobs you've applied for.
Other programs. It must be a document from the provider of the program, which includes all of the following:
  • your name
  • the name of the provider
  • the program name and purpose
  • the start and end date of the program
  • participation requirements of the program, such as the number of hours you do each week.
