Centrelink payment summary

Your payment summary shows your taxable and tax-related payments within a financial year.

You can get your payment summary now. Keep in mind, if you wait until mid July, your payment details will prefill in the ATO’s myTax system.

What’s on your payment summary

Your payment summary shows:

  • your Centrelink payments
  • payment dates
  • taxable and tax exempt amounts
  • tax withheld amounts - deductions
  • Remote area allowance amounts, if you get it.

You need this to lodge a tax return.

Payments shown on your payment summary

Taxable payments included on payment summaries are:

  • ABSTUDY
  • Age Pension
  • Australian Government Emergency Payment
  • Austudy Payment
  • Bereavement
  • BSWAT lump sum in arrears
  • Carer Payment
  • CDEP Participant Supplement
  • Dad and Partner Pay
  • Disability Support Pension
  • Disaster Recovery Allowance
  • Drought Relief Payment
  • Education Entry Payment
  • Emergency and General Assistance Payment
  • Emergency Recovery Payment
  • Exceptional Circumstances Relief Payment
  • Farm Household Allowance

You will also receive a payment summary if you get any of the non-taxable payments of:

The payments displayed on your Centrelink payment summary will include any of these add on payments you get:

  • Additional Assistance - regular
  • Basic Pension Supplement
  • Bereavement lump sum above the tax exempt amount
  • Living Allowance, Term or School Boarder
  • National Work Experience Programme
  • Remote Jobs and Communities Programme Supplement
  • School Fees Allowance Group 2 or Board
  • Work for the Dole.

How to access your Centrelink payment summary

If you lodge your tax return through the ATO’s myTax system, your payment summary information may be pre-filled. If it isn’t pre-filled, you can add it. Please contact the ATO  if you need help.

What if your payment changes

We’ll send you an updated payment summary if your payment changes. You don’t need to do anything.

If you get your Centrelink letters online, we’ll send it to your myGov Inbox.

If you’re not registered for online letters, we’ll post it to you.

If you use myTax, any change to your payment summary for the previous financial year will update your pre-filled information. The ATO updates this information weekly starting from mid-July. If your updated information doesn’t show in myTax, please contact the ATO.
