What can affect your payment
There are different things that can affect your Family Tax Benefit payment. The amount you get depends on your circumstances.
If you don’t tell us when your circumstances change, you may be doing the wrong thing.
If your child is turning 4, they may need to have a health check. If they don’t, your Family Tax Benefit (FTB) Part A rate may reduce.
Any child support you receive can affect how much Family Tax Benefit (FTB) Part A you get.
An interim period may apply if care is disputed. This is when parents stop following a written care agreement and disagree with that change.
There are rules about how long your Family Tax Benefit can be paid while you or your dependent children travel outside Australia.
