What you need to do

  1. Check if you can get it.
  2. Find out how to claim.
  3. Make an agreement to look for a job and report regularly.

Your Newstart Allowance may not start until you go to your first appointment with an Employment Services Provider.

Your payment will stop if you don’t keep your agreement to look for work and can’t give us a good reason.

How much you can get

Most single people can get around $545.80 every 2 weeks. But this depends on things like your employment status, personal circumstances and savings.

Check how much you can get based on your situation.
