Pension Supplement is a combined payment of Pharmaceutical Allowance, Utilities Allowance, GST Supplement and Telephone Allowance.
We base Telephone Allowance on the higher rate for internet subscribers.
Who can get it
There are 3 ways to get the supplement.
You can get the supplement if you get:
- Age Pension
- Bereavement Allowance
- Carer Payment
- Disability Support Pension - except if you are 20 years old or younger and have no children
- Widow B Pension, or
- Wife Pension
You can get the supplement if you are over Age Pension age and get:
You can get the basic amount of supplement if you:
- are under Age Pension age, and
- get Parenting Payment as a single parent

If you can’t get Pension Supplement, you could get:
How you get it
You don’t need to do anything. We’ll pay you each fortnight with your support payment.
When you're a transitional rate pensioner
If you get a transitional rate of pension you won't get the Pension Supplement. You'll get an equivalent amount.
