How to download and set up the app

You can download and set up our app on your mobile or tablet.

To use our app you need to link your myGov account to Medicare. If you don’t have a myGov account or a Medicare online account, you’ll need to set them up.

Downloading the app

When you’ve set up your Medicare online account, you can download and use our app.

 

To download to an iPad, search for iPhone only in the App Store.

Setting up the app

The first time you use the app, you’ll need to follow these steps:

  1. Accept the terms and conditions.
  2. Enter your myGov username starting with 2 letters followed by 6 numbers, for example AB123456.
  3. Enter your myGov password and log in.
  4. Answer 1 of the secret questions you set up with myGov.
  5. Create a 4 digit PIN.

The next time you use the app, you can log in with the 4 digit PIN.

Keep in mind, the app will log you out if you haven’t used it for 15 minutes.

Protecting your privacy


For your safety, it’s best not to store your PIN on your mobile device.
