Employment Services - Changes to Service Fees and Cessation of Personal Contact Interviews - Budget 2015-16

With the introduction of the new Employment Services Model on 1 July 2015, employment services providers will assume responsibility for setting and monitoring job search efforts.

This Budget measure is not subject to passage of legislation.

Description of the measure

With the introduction of the new Employment Services Model on 1 July 2015, employment services providers will assume responsibility for setting and monitoring job search efforts.

From 1 July 2015, this change will result in the cessation of regular Personal Contact Interviews currently conducted by the Department of Human Services.

Job seekers are still required to meet all requirements and attend all appointments scheduled with Department of Human Services and their Employment Services Provider.

Who is eligible for this measure

Job seekers will not be required to participate in Personal Contact Interviews with the Department of Human Services when these arrangements cease from 1 July 2015.
