Description of the measure

This measure ensures the Relocation Scholarship is only available to Youth Allowance (student) and ABSTUDY Living Allowance recipients living in Australia.

From 1 January 2018, students with a parental home or usual place of residence located overseas will no longer be eligible to receive the Relocation Scholarship. Also, students who relocate to undertake part of their Australian course at an overseas campus location will not be eligible for the Relocation Scholarship.

Whom does this measure affect?

This measure affects students studying in Australia where their family home is overseas when their course begins, or their usual residence is overseas six months before they started their current course.

The measure also affects students undertaking part of their Australian degree overseas.

What date will this measure start and finish?

This measure will start on 1 January 2018 and is ongoing.
