Our entry level pathways
If you’ve finished year 12, apply for our Digital Apprenticeship Program.
If you’re studying a Digital or Information Communication Technology (ICT) qualification at university, apply for our Digital Cadetship Program.
If you’ve graduated from university, apply for our National Graduate Program.
If you identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Australian, apply for the Indigenous Apprenticeships Program.
If you’re studying at high school or university, apply for our work experience pathways.

The Digital Apprenticeship Programme is open to Australian citizens who have completed their year 12 or equivalent qualification. The program runs for 2 years.
While working full time with us, you’ll complete a Certificate IV in a Digital or ICT related discipline, such as:
- Applications Development
- Cyber Security
- Infrastructure Support
- Systems Testing
- Systems Analysis and Design
You’ll be employed as an ongoing employee at the APS1 classification level. On successful completion of the program, you’ll have a Digital or ICT qualification and advance to the APS3 classification level.
Apprentices earn an attractive and competitive salary package, including leave and superannuation.
To be eligible, you must:
- have a Year 12 certificate or equivalent
- be able to work full time, and
- be an Australian citizen
The Digital Cadetship Program is open to Australian citizens who have completed 1 year of an undergraduate bachelor degree or equivalent. The program is an exciting opportunity for university students to work part time while completing their degree.
As a Digital cadet you earn an attractive and competitive salary package, including leave and superannuation. You also receive a generous study allowance to help with your university costs.
You’ll need to work at least 15 hours a week in the workplace. The remainder of the working week is dedicated to your study. The program is offered for 18 months to 3 years.
You’ll be employed as an ongoing employee at the APS2 classification level. On successful completion of the program and your university studies, you’ll advance to the APS4 classification level.
To be eligible you must:
- be enrolled in an Australian university
- have completed 1 year towards an undergraduate bachelor degree or equivalent, and
- be an Australian citizen
Our National Graduate Program is open to university graduates. We offer a generalist and professional pathway to suit every degree. It runs for 10 months, offering on the job learning, formal training and specialist events to develop your skills as a member of the APS.
