We can support people to keep their private information safe

We know many people find it distressing to learn about a possible privacy breach.

The Australian Privacy Commissioner is investigating Amazing Rentals for a possible breach of personal information. The Commissioner has notified customers of Amazing Rentals in Darwin, Caboolture and Toowoomba to take steps to protect their personal details.

We have cancelled all Centrepay deductions to Amazing Rentals. We will also will contact our customers to let them know of the possible breach and offer support. We’ve put in place additional proof of identity procedures to help safeguard our customers’ records.

We have trained staff in our Identity Support and Response Team who can explain to customers how to keep their information safe. We can also talk about what to do to protect their identity and provide extra help if they are worried.

There are easy steps people can follow to protect identity details. Check out the Ten tips to protect your privacy fact sheet on the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner website.
