Changes to residential aged care facility (RACF) MBS items
1 March 2019
From March some RACF items in the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) are changing.
There are 12 RACF items which will end on 28 Februray 2019.
From 1 March 2019 there are 12 new attendance items. These new items don’t use a derived fee structure and have a standard schedule fee. This means you no longer need to tell us how many patients you’ve seen on the one occasion.
There are also 2 new ‘call out fee’ items from 1 March. You can bill one item for each separate occasion you visit an RACF. The item is billed against the first person you see during your visit.
Please note there are no changes to telehealth or afterhours RACF MBS items.
