Dermatology changes in the MBS for health professionals

From 1 November 2018 there will be changes to dermatology, allergy and immunology MBS items.

From 1 November 2018, there will be changes to Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) items relating to:

  • allergy testing
  • benign and malignant neoplasms of skin
  • wart removal
  • phototherapy (PUVA/UVB)
  • Mohs surgery
  • laser excision of face or neck tumours
  • vermilionectomy using laser
  • treatment of rhinophyma using laser.

The new and revised items better align with contemporary clinical practice and will contribute to improved patient care.
