Record flu vaccines for all patients on the AIR
9 April 2019
You can record flu and other adult vaccines on the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
The AIR records vaccines given to people of all ages in Australia. This includes National Immunisation Program (NIP) Schedule vaccines, school vaccines, flu and travel vaccines.
When you give any vaccine, you should record it on the AIR as soon as possible. The quickest way to do this is using your practice management software, or go to AIR through HPOS.
To access the AIR make sure you have the latest version of your Practice Management Software and internet browser.
You can use the AIR site to:
- check a patient’s immunisation status, regardless of who immunised them
- edit immunisation errors
- record immunisation information
- see reports to help identify patients who are due or overdue for vaccinations.
You only need to record immunisation details on the AIR. The AIR will update your patients’ My Health Record if they have one.
Patients can get their immunisation history statement online. They can use their Medicare online account through myGov or the Express Plus Medicare mobile app. You can also print a copy for them from the AIR site.
