Practice Incentives Program

The Practice Incentives Program (PIP) aims to support general practice activities.

The Quality Improvement QI Incentive started on 1 August 2019. Go to Quality Improvement Incentive to find out how to apply.

These activities include continuous improvements, quality care, enhanced capacity, and improved access and health outcomes for patients.

We administer the PIP on behalf of the Department of Health. The PIP consists of 8 individual incentives:

  • After Hours Incentive
  • eHealth Incentive
  • General Practitioner Payment Aged Care Access Incentive
  • Indigenous Health Incentive
  • Procedural General Practitioner Payment
  • Quality Improvement Incentive
  • Rural Loading Incentive
  • Teaching Payment Incentive.
