Accessing the AIR using HPOS

You can use the AIR site through HPOS to record immunisation details. You can also view and print immunisation histories, request reports, and update your contact details.

You can use the AIR site to:

Read more about the AIR for health professionals.

Using the AIR as a medical practice

Medical practices must apply to become a recognised vaccination provider on the AIR to access the AIR site.

Once registered, medical practice staff can access the AIR site using a practice authentication file.

Medical practice staff can only use their practice’s AIR provider number to access the AIR site using an authentication file.

If you haven’t registered your practice on the AIR, you should do it now. This will ensure your staff can continue to access the AIR site.

If your practice is already registered, your staff can continue to use your practice authentication file until we write you about transitioning to PRODA.

Unauthorised use of an authentication file breaches the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Immunisation Register Act 2015.

Note: if your medical practice became a recognised vaccination provider before 9 September 2018, you must complete the online request access form to access the AIR site.

Using the AIR as a medical practitioner, midwife or nurse practitioner

If you have a Medicare provider number, you’re automatically a recognised vaccination provider on the AIR.

We’ll be turning off your individual authentication file in the near future and you’ll need a PRODA account to access the AIR site.

If you already have a PRODA account, you don’t need to create another one. You can use PRODA to access the AIR site now.

Other vaccination providers

Other vaccination providers must apply to become a recognised vaccination provider to access the AIR site.

Once you’re registered, we’ll issue you an authentication file. You can use this to access the AIR site until we write to you about transitioning to PRODA.

Note: if you became a recognised vaccination provider before 9 September 2018, you must complete the online request access form to access the AIR site.
